The Bowery Project at Oben Flats

The Bowery Project has taken over our vacant lot on Sherbourne and Gerrard for the second year in a row to their great success! These mobile pop-up farms grow food that is then given away to the community. Each year, a big urban garden site like ours can produce over 400 pounds of produce to help feed hungry people in Toronto.

In a recent interview with Global News, The Bowery Project, co-founder Rachel Kimel explained that "Oben Flats wanted to do something that gave back to the community and that transformed [the] site."

Our lot at Sherbourne and Gerrard had previously been vacant for over two decades. We're happy to see how The Bowery Project at Oben Flats at directly benefitted the local Toronto community with 1500 milk crates, many volunteers, and educational programming.
